Welcome to Butwal oldest and trusted education consultancy for abroad study
Got your university offer? The next big step is your student visa from Nepal. First Step Consultancy in Butwal handles your visa application from start to finish, so you walk into the embassy fully prepared.
A student visa, also called a study permit or student entry clearance depending on the country, allows Nepali nationals to enter another country to study full time at a recognised institution.
A student visa is different from a tourist visa. It is tied to your enrolled institution, your specific course, and an approved length of stay. Each country has its own name for it. The UK grants a Student visa, Australia issues a Student visa (Subclass 500), the USA grants an F-1 visa, and Canada provides a Study Permit.
Applying under the wrong visa category, or sending incomplete documents, is the most common reason Nepali students face refusal. A single rejected application can delay your studies by a full academic year and make future applications harder.
At First Step Consultancy in Butwal, our counsellors know exactly what each embassy expects. From your first eligibility check to the day you board your flight, we are with you at every step.
Every country has its own student visa rules, financial requirements, and processing timelines. We cover them all — with expertise built over 10+ years of practice from Butwal.
Requires a CAS from a licensed university sponsor. You must show funds covering tuition plus living costs for the first year. No separate work permit needed, you can work up to 20 hours a week during term time.
The most common US student visa. Requires a Form I-20 from your US institution and proof of funds for the full programme. A US Embassy interview in Kathmandu is required, so preparation matters a lot.
Germany issues a National Visa (Nationales Visum) for students enrolled in German universities. Most public universities charge zero or very low tuition fees, even for international students. You need to show a blocked account of about €11,208 per year. German language proficiency may be required depending on the programme.
Required for courses longer than 6 months. Canada uses a Student Direct Stream process with an attestation letter from provincial governments. Processing usually takes 4 to 8 weeks.
Requires a CoE from a registered CRICOS provider. You must show enough funds to cover tuition, living costs, and travel. After your studies, you can apply for the Temporary Graduate visa (Subclass 485).
Applied online through Immigration New Zealand, since there is no NZ embassy in Nepal. The visa fee is around NZD 375 to 850. You need funds for your first year tuition plus NZD 15,000 per year for living costs. Students can work up to 25 hours a week during study.
Most student visa applications from Nepal require proof of English proficiency. Below are general minimum requirements — individual universities may require higher scores.

From your first visit to our Milanchowk office to the day you board your flight, here is exactly how First Step Consultancy manages your student visa from Nepal.
We review your academic background, target country, budget, and timeline, and tell you honestly which universities and visa categories fit you.
We check your current English score against what your target university and visa need.
We complete and cross check your full application file.
We submit to the embassy or online portal and track your progress.
Once approved, we explain your entry conditions and travel essentials.
Understanding why applications fail is the first step to making sure yours doesn’t. These are the most common refusal reasons our counsellors see — and how we help you avoid them.
An SOP that does not show real study intent, career direction, or ties to Nepal is the most common refusal reason across all embassies.
Bank statements that do not cover the full course, sudden large deposits with no explanation, or funds not belonging to the applicant or sponsor.
Mismatched dates, names, or figures across your transcripts, bank statements, and visa form.
Embassies, especially in the US and Australia, check whether you plan to return after your studies. Property, family, and job history in Nepal help your case.
An expired or below minimum English score can cause refusal even if every other document is perfect.
Applying for a course unrelated to your previous studies, without a clear reason in your SOP, raises questions.
For US F-1 and some UK cases, weak answers or inconsistent statements at interview are a major refusal trigger.
Transcripts or certificates not properly attested by the right authority in Nepal.
A dedicated team that treats every student like family—because your success is our success.
We are a dynamic and forward-thinking We offer one-on-one guidance tailored to each student’s academic background, career goals, and financial situation.
