Welcome to Butwal oldest and trusted education consultancy for abroad study

Choosing the right IELTS course can be just as important as the preparation itself. Not every student needs the same type of coaching. Your starting level, target band score, and timeline before your visa deadline all determine which IELTS course will actually get you there. At First Step Education Consultancy, we offer a range of IELTS courses designed around these differences, rather than a single one size fits all program.

This guide breaks down the types of IELTS courses available, what each one covers, and how to know which IELTS course fits your situation.

Types of IELTS Courses We Offer

Standard IELTS Course (6 Weeks)

Our most popular IELTS course, built for students with a moderate timeline before their test date. This course covers all four modules in depth, with steady pacing that allows time to build both accuracy and speed.

Two live classes per module per week
Weekly writing correction with written feedback
Two full length mock tests included
Suitable for students starting from a 5.0 to 5.5 baseline

Intensive Crash IELTS Course (3 Weeks)

This IELTS course is designed for students with an approaching test date who need focused, high frequency practice rather than a slow build up.

Daily classes across all four modules
Four full length mock tests within three weeks
Best suited for students who already have a baseline score close to their target and need refinement rather than foundational training

Foundation English and IELTS Course (10 Weeks)

For students whose English proficiency needs strengthening before IELTS specific strategy will be effective. This IELTS course blends general English grammar and vocabulary building with exam techniques introduced gradually.

Recommended for students scoring below 4.5 on a diagnostic test
Extra grammar and vocabulary sessions built into the weekly schedule
Transitions into standard IELTS strategy in the final three weeks

One on One IELTS Coaching

For students who need flexible timing or want concentrated attention on a specific weak module, such as writing or speaking, within a more personal course structure.

Fully customized session plan based on a diagnostic assessment
Flexible scheduling around work or college commitments
Often combined with a group course for exam strategy, with one on one sessions reserved for weaker modules

What Every IELTS Course Includes

Regardless of which course you choose, all IELTS courses at First Step include:

Assessment through a free diagnostic test before enrollment, so you start in the right course rather than guessing your level
Study material based on current Cambridge IELTS practice books
Trainers experienced in how band scores are actually calculated across listening, reading, writing, and speaking
Small batch sizes, with a maximum of 12 students, so feedback stays individual rather than generic
Morning and evening batch timings to fit around school, college, or work

How to Choose the Right IELTS Course

If you are unsure which IELTS course fits you, the diagnostic test is the fastest way to find out. As a general guide:

If your diagnostic score is 2 or more bands below your target, the Foundation course is usually the better starting point
If you are within 1 band of your target and have 4 to 8 weeks before your test, the Standard course is typically sufficient
If your test date is under a month away and you are close to your target score, the Intensive Crash Course is built for that timeline
If one specific module is holding back your overall score, One on One coaching on that module alone can be more efficient than repeating a full course

Our counselors can also help you match your IELTS course choice to your student visa requirements for your target country, since the band score you need depends heavily on where you are applying.

IELTS Course Fees

Course fees vary depending on which IELTS course you choose, its duration, and batch size, and are best confirmed directly with our office since we periodically adjust batch schedules and material costs. Keep in mind that course fees are separate from the official IELTS exam fee, which is currently around NPR 27,000 when booked through the official test centers, British Council or IDP Nepal.

For the most accurate and current registration process, exam dates, and fee structure, you can also refer to the official IELTS website.

Understanding What the Test Actually Requires

Every IELTS course we offer is built around the real structure of the exam rather than generic English teaching. If you want to understand the four modules in more detail, including common mistakes Nepali students make in each section, see the Cambridge English IELTS exam overview for the official test format.

Band score requirements also vary significantly by country and university. Before committing to an IELTS course timeline, it is worth checking the British Council country specific IELTS requirements so your target score is based on your actual destination, not a generic assumption.
