Welcome to butwal oldest and trusted education consultancy for abroad study
Travelling abroad for meetings, trade shows, or investment? First Step Consultancy in Butwal handles your business visa application end-to-end — so you walk in prepared and walk out approved.
A family visa — also called a study permit, family visa subclass, or student entry clearance depending on the country — is a government-issued authorisation that allows Nepali nationals to enter a foreign country specifically to pursue full-time education at a recognised institution.
Unlike a tourist visa, a family visa is tied to an enrolled institution, a specific course, and an approved duration of stay. Each country issues its own type: the UK grants a Family Visa (formerly Tier 4), Australia issues a Family Visa (Subclass 500), the USA grants an F-1 Visa, Canada provides a Family Permit, and Germany offers a Student Visa (Nationales Visum).
Applying under the wrong visa category — or submitting incomplete documentation — is the most common reason Nepali families face refusal. A single rejected application can delay your studies by an entire academic year and create barriers for future applications.
At First Step Consultancy in Butwal, our counsellors know exactly what each embassy expects. From your first eligibility check to the day you board your flight, we are with you every step of the way.
Every country has its own family visa rules, financial requirements, and processing timelines. We cover them all — with expertise built over 10+ years of practice from Butwal.
The UK Student Visa (formerly Tier 4) requires a CAS (Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies) from a licensed Tier 4 sponsor university. You must also prove funds covering tuition plus living costs for the first year. No separate work permit is needed — you can work up to 20 hours per week during term time.
The F-1 visa is the most common US student visa for academic programmes. It requires a Form I-20 issued by your US institution (SEVIS-certified) and proof of financial support for the full programme. A US Embassy interview in Kathmandu is mandatory — preparation matters enormously.
Germany issues a National Visa (Nationales Visum) for students enrolled in German universities, most of which charge zero tuition fees even for international students. You must show a blocked account (Sperrkonto) of €11,208/year (2024 rate). German language proficiency may be required depending on the programme.
Canada requires a Study Permit (not technically a visa, but required for courses longer than 6 months). Since January 2024, Canada introduced a Student Direct Stream (SDS) cap and new attestation letter requirement from provincial governments. Processing times are 4–8 weeks.
The Australian Student Visa (Subclass 500) requires a CoE (Confirmation of Enrolment) from a registered CRICOS provider. Financial evidence must show AUD 21,041/year (2024 rate) for living costs. Post-study, graduates can apply for the Temporary Graduate Visa (Subclass 485).
Most student visa applications from Nepal require proof of English proficiency. Below are general minimum requirements — individual universities may require higher scores.

⚠️ These are visa-level minimums. Your chosen university may require higher scores than the visa minimum — always check both. If your current score falls short, First Step offers IELTS, PTE, and TOEFL preparation classes in Butwal with experienced trainers and timed mock tests.
From your first visit to our Milanchowk office to the day you board your flight, here is exactly how First Step Consultancy manages your student visa from Nepal.
Our counsellor reviews your academic background, target country, budget, and timeline. We identify which universities and visa categories you qualify for — honestly, not commercially.
We hand you a personalised checklist and guide you through gathering every required document.
We complete, cross-check, and prepare the full application file — nothing missing, nothing incorrect.
We submit to the embassy or online portal and track your application progress.
Once approved, we debrief you on entry conditions, dos and don'ts abroad, and travel essentials.
Understanding why applications fail is the first step to making sure yours doesn’t. These are the most common refusal reasons our counsellors see — and how we help you avoid them.
An SOP that doesn't demonstrate genuine study intent, career clarity, or ties to Nepal is the most common refusal trigger across all embassies.
Bank statements that don't cover the full course duration, recent large deposits with no explanation, or funds in accounts not belonging to the applicant or sponsor.
Conflicting dates, names, or figures across transcripts, bank statements, and the visa application form raise immediate red flags for officers.
Embassies — especially US and Australia — assess whether you will return after study. Property, family, and employment history in Nepal strengthen your case.
We complete your visa application form, review it against the latest embassy requirements, and submit via the official channel — whether online or at the embassy in Kathmandu.
For US F-1 and selected UK programmes, we run structured mock interviews — covering common officer questions, body language, and how to address financial or academic gaps honestly.
An expired or below-minimum English proficiency score can result in outright refusal, even if all other documents are perfect.
Applying for a course completely unrelated to your previous studies without clear justification in the SOP often raises credibility concerns.
A dedicated team that treats every student like family—because your success is our success.
We are a dynamic and forward-thinking We offer one-on-one guidance tailored to each student’s academic background, career goals, and financial situation.
